My only con is that you can’t use the controller’s mute button when using the Pulses wirelessly, which I would prefer over fishing for the mute on the headset. The game/chat mix buttons also works great. There’s also a battery indicator that shows on-screen. The audio automatically switches when powering on/off the headset. Software Integration: This is probably obvious but the Pulses have great system integration. The 7ps have a volume dial and mute button on the left cup, a side tone dial and power button on the right cup. The buttons are almost flush with the right ear cup and there’s about 6 buttons on the ear cup: volume rocker, game/chat mix rocker, mute, power. But after 10 hours on the Pulses, I still cannot find the volume button on first try while playing the game. Winner - Pulseīuttons: This will vary person to person. Both have ability to use normal headphone jacks. I would have really liked to only use one usb-c cable to charge all my ps5 accessories. Such a stupid decision for steelseries to go micro-usb. 7ps use usb-c for dongle and micro-usb for charging. Pulse use usb-a for wireless dongle and usb-c to charge. Winner - 7pĬonnectivity: Both use 2.4ghz WiFi wireless to connect to a dongle inserted into the ps5. The Pulses started to cause sweat a little as well as leave some of my ear lobes hanging out. Those 2 things alone contribute to a more comfortable fit. The ear cups on the 7ps are larger and rotate. Both of these are comfortable and didn’t cause any pain after ~9 hours with each. Winner - 7pĬomfort: I’d say I have an average male head size, but my ears may a bit on the bigger than average size. The white on the 7ps are different than the white on the dualsense and ps5 which is a little annoying. The metal alone make these feel more durable, though the Pulses look more luxury imho, but this is mostly due to the button placement, leather, and matte finish. The ear cups are also rotating, as opposed to the stiff unibody Pulses. 7ps are made of metal and plastic body with a Velcro strap for adjusting, and a felt mesh material on the ear cups. Physical Quality: Pulse’s are made out of a matte plastic with faux leather earcups and a thick rubber self adjusting head band. Games played during tests: Call of Duty Cold War campaign and multiplayer, Demon Souls, and Spider-Man MM. I’ll do my best to explain the sound quality and not sound like an idiot. My idea of amazing headphones are the Sony WH-1000XM3.
